Fake Frozen dolls seized in Manchester

A company in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, has been discovered importing counterfeit dolls based on the famous Disney film Frozen.

The toys, which included characters Anna and Elsa, featured parts that were not properly secure meaning kids could get hold of the button cell batteries inside.

If swallowed by a child, the batteries could potentially be life threatening.

As a result the firm has been fined almost £6,000, after officers from Manchester City Council Trading Standards discovered the fake Disney goods and seized the dolls.

In total, the Cheetham Hill-based company was fined a total of £4,000, and was ordered to pay £827.30 in costs and a victim surcharge of £170, at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on May 18th, 2016.
