Esdevium’s first Board Game Club takeover proves a ‘triumph’

Esdevium Games’ first ever total take-over of the grown-up games night Board Game Club has been dubbed a ‘triumph’.

The company took guests on a ‘gudied tour’ of modern board games, and showcased titles including Colt Express, Spyfall and Sheriff of Nottingham.

“We were absolutely delighted with how our Board Game Club takeover was received by the 100 or so guests who joined us,” said Ben Hogg of Esdevium Games.

“We selected a wide range of games we felt represented our key family titles and that encouraged guests to step outside their comfort zone, trying something new that they perhaps had not played before. The reaction we had to the games was fantastic. The demonstrators did a great job in guiding players through and the enthusiasm from the players was infectious.”

Hosted by a team of ten, fans were also offered a sneak preview of the new game Cortex, as well as the option to play well-known Board Game Club favourites such as Dobble and Codenames.

Board Game Club co-founder and Playtime PR‘s Lesley Singleton, added: “The night attracted a real mix of guests – everyone from games reviewers, bloggers and podcasters to members of the general public who’ve grown to love our nights over the past two years.

“We also had a healthy turnout from the industry itself, including representatives from the trade media, retail buyers plus other toy and game companies joining us for a play. We’re looking forward to welcoming more games brands who wish to take over our menu for a night later this year.”
