Toys R Us names new executive VP and global CTO

Toys R Us has appointed a new executive VP and global CTO in the form of Lance Wills.

Wills’ new position will be effective from June 13th, where he will report directly to chairman and CEO Dave Brandon.

As CTO, Wills will be responsible for maintaining the company’s global IT and digital strategy, as well as overseeing end-to-end strategy, design and implementation of the firm’s digital road map.

"As we work towards creating a world-class customer shopping experience and revolutionising our digital strategy, we are excited to welcome Lance to this new key role within the organisation," said Brandon.

"Lance has the talent, experience and leadership qualities that will be instrumental in helping position our IT and digital teams for success in the company’s journey to growth."

Wills joins Toys R Us following his tenure at American Eagle Outfitters, where he served as VP of global head of digital technology.

Prior to that, he also held roles at Macy’s and Thomson Reuters in London and San Francisco.
