NECA to release TMNT figures inspired by Konami’s 1989 arcade game

Collectables specialist NECA has unveiled a line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures based on the popular 1989 TMNT arcade videogame.

The first of two box sets will feature the franchise’s classic heroes: Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo and Raphael in the image of their in-game, pixelated appearance.

The second box set will feature a line up of in-game villains as seen in the classic arcade game from Konami, including Foot Clad ninjas and Shredder.

Sticking with the arcade theme, NECA has designed the boxes to replicate the game’s character select screen and includes a fold down piece that mimics an arcade cabinet.

The Tech Times reports that the line has been developed as an exclusive to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con with no detail on pricing announced to date.
