Smyths recalls go-kart due to electrical fault

Toy retailer Smyths is asking parents to return an electric go-kart to its stores, amid fears the product is unsafe.

The retailer has issued an urgent recall notice for the 24V Turnado Drift and is asking consumers to stop using the go-kart.

Smyths said in a statement: “Smyths is urging customers not to use the product and return it with the mains plug and charger to their local Smyths Store, where they will receive a refund or an alternative replacement product,” reports The Sun.

"If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact your local Smyths Toys Store or contact us through our online help centre.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your co-operation."

The go-kart first went on sale in November last year, and reportedly features an electrical and mechanical fault, making it dangerous to use.
