Traditional board games are outselling video games here in the UK, according to the results of eBay.co.uk’s latest consumer survey.
The online trading place has seen Scrabble top the list as a nation’s favourite, selling 800 Scrabble related products each day, nearly three times as more than its leading video game title Super Mario Bros.
The Nintendo title has sold 260 products each day over the last three months, outpacing the studio’s fantasy game The Legend of Zelda by 200 items a day, and only outselling the popular traditional game of chess that sells 200 products each day.
Monopoly is also in the money at third place selling seven items an hour on the site, while the 80s arcade classic Tetris slides to bottom place in the video game ranking, having sold only 4000 related items over the last three months.
