Frozen’s head of animation to direct Playmobil movie

Lino Di Salvo, the head on animation on Disney’s Frozen, is to direct the first film in a planned Playmobil trilogy: Playmobil: Robbers, Thieves & Rebels.

Variety reports that Di Salvo spent 17 years at Disney Animation where he served as animation supervisor on Tangled and Bolt before joining Paramount Animation as creative director in 2014.

“I’ve learned most of my skills by growing up in the Disney system," said Lino DiSalvo.

“I am thrilled at the prospect of developing the Playmobil film. As a father and a filmmaker, to create a film about your son’s favorite toy, what else do you want?”

Playmobil: Robbers, Thieves & Rebels is expected to hit cinemas towards the end of 2018.
