Ty to launch new Clangers plush toys

Coolabi Group has struck a new deal with Ty UK to develop a new range of plush based on the BAFTA award winning series, the Clangers.

The new range of gift plush will be launched across the UK and Ireland from spring this year, following the successful launch of the rebooted series on CBeebies in 2015.

The new deal is just part of a planned slate of consumer products anticipated to roll out over the year.

The American company Ty will also be on board with the plush collection when the popular children’s series hits screens in the US.

“We are immensely proud to partner with Coolabi on this already hugely successful property on CBeebies, with Michael Palin as the UK narrator,” said Steve Gomez, development director of Ty UK.

“As an American company, we are also hugely excited by the launch of the programme in the US, with the equally inspired choice of William Shatner as US narrator.

“We are honoured to be working on the brand and rolling out an impressive new product range for 2016.”

Coolabi believes that the new plush range from Ty will sit neatly alongside the master toy range from UK manufacturer, Character Options.

“Ty’s reputation and experience speaks for itself so we are delighted to announce them as our partner,” said Valerie Fry, director of licensing at Coolabi.

“2015 was an incredible year for Clangers. At launch it was the best performing children’s programme for the first half of the year and in its current Bedtime hour slot, it regularly outperforms the slot average share.

“With exciting new product lines and 26 band new episodes coming too, 2016 is shaping up to be an amazing Clangers year too.”
