Nottingham is preparing to open its very own board game café, inviting fans to indulge in an array of obscure gaming titles.
Titled The Ludorati Café Bar, the venue is planned to open in March next year in Maid Marian Way, offering over 750 classic and alternative games.
The planning application for the café was submitted to Nottingham City Council last month but a decision on whether to grant planning permission has yet to be made.
The planned café is the latest in a string of Board Game Cafés to pop up across the UK and follows the news of an intended board game-themed pub in Bristol.
The South West venue, called Chance & Counters is the brainchild of four friends and gaming fans who decided to create a drinking venue centered around their favourite pastime.
The venue hopes to be open by this February where it will serve patrons with an array of board games dating back to the 90s as well as real ales, ciders and lagers.
The team is now gearing to launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise the necessary funs to complete Chance & Counters. The campaign will go live on January 11th and will run until February 11th, giving them one month to raise the £10,000 target.
