Winning Moves to launch The BFG Monopoly in 2016

Winning Moves has partnered with eOne to develop a Monopoly board game inspired by the upcoming movie The BFG.

The licensed board and card game specialist is the latest in a long list of new partners to have signed with the 2016 big screen adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic.

The BFG Monopoly is scheduled to land in stores in summer 2016, coinciding with the launch of the movie to cinemas next year.

Toy partners for the much anticipated movie from Steven Spielberg so far include Winning Moves and Ravensburger who has signed to deliver a raft of children’s puzzles.

The pair join the likes of Blues for leisurewear, C&M Licensing for nightwear and Kinnerton for chocolate confectionery, alongside Fashion UK, William Lamb for footwear and bags and Bazooka Candy for confectionery.

“We have had a tremendous response to The BFG from licensees and have assembled a strong line-up of partner across a wide range of categories,” said Hannah Mungo, head of UK licensing at eOne.

“Excitement is beginning to build with the release of the film’s first trailer last week, which kick starts an eight month marketing campaign that will make this one of the must-see movies of summer 2016.”
