K’NEX enters STEM market with new head of educational sales

K’NEX is continuing its plans for UK wide expansion with the appointment of a new head of educational sales.

Former Mattel, Hasbro and Franklin Electronic Publishers exec, Lynne Swatton-Reed will step into the role from January 11, 2016, bringing a wealth of sales management experience across both toy and education brands.

Swatton-Reed joins the firm as K’NEX continues to see success across its UK business and as it plans to commence distribution of an educational range from January next year.

Aligned to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths standards, K’NEX Education sets are designed to encourage hands-on 3D STEM learning concepts in the construction, investigation, discussion and evaluation of scientific and design principles.

“I am delighted to join K’NEX UK in such a landmark year,” said Swatton-Reed. “In addition to my professional experience working with toy and education brands, my daughter is currently in secondary school, so I understand first hand the importance of making STEM subjects exciting and engaging for the next generation.

“K’NEX is uniquely placed to do this, and I can’t wait to get started.”
