London Fire Brigade celebrates 150th anniversary with Playmobil safety video

To celebrate its 150th anniversary, the London Fire Brigade have recruited a specialist crew of Playmobil firefighters to release a sing-a-long video fire safety video.

The video aims to ensure children know who to call when they are in danger and forms part of a partnership with Playmobil running into 2016 which is set to educate children about fire safety outside of the home.

The video will be used by London Firefighters and the Brigade’s Education team as part of their fire prevention outreach work, teaching children in foundation year classes (Nursery, Reception and Year 1).

“Our rescue ranges are some of our most popular, as little ones get to be the heroes," said Jamie Dickinson, marketing manager of Playmobil UK.

"Partnering with the London Fire Brigade, together we can help teach valuable safety lessons to our youngsters in their milestone year."

London Fire Commissioner Ron Dobson added: “Our new recruits are doing a grand job in their very first mission for the Brigade! It’s never too early to teach people how to keep themselves safe, and this video will help us reach more children, perhaps even inspiring the next generation of firefighters.”
