Hamleys has found a buyer in Chinese footwear retailer C. banner International Holdings, who said it would acquire the iconic toy store chain for £100m.
After weeks of speculation over who would be making the bid for the international toy retailer, C. banner revealed it was behind a move to purchase Hamleys from France’s Ludendo Groupe.
The announcement of the purchase arrives one week after Chinese President’s Xi Jinping’s three-day visit to the UK.
The president’s trip featured the signing of a raft of business deals worth a total of £40bn.
