Last week’s Cartamundi Board Game Club takeover has been hailed a ‘huge success’ by attendees, organisers and sponsors alike.
Last Thursday (October 1st) saw the card game specialist stage the first complete sponsored takeover of the nomadic adult board game evening at Brasserie 43 in Central London.
The evening welcomed a mix of inventors, suppliers, young games designers, media and business associates as guests were entertained with Black Jack and poker courtesy of Cartamundi.
Cartamundi’s VP of games manufacturing services, Steven Schoenmaekers was on hand to open Board Game Club’s casino element as he invited guests to play a variety of games.
“Cartamundi’s guests fully embraced the Board Game Club ethos of friendly, informal play,” said Lesley Singleton, Board Game Club co-founder.
“The atmosphere was fantastic from the start and it was wonderful to see so many new faces experiencing new games together.
“Although this was Cartamundi’s night, as they really do understand and support how we create our evenings, the games menu was as eclectic as ever. We had people layng everything from Splendour and Risk to Pie Face and Loopin’ Louie.
“The family who invented Sussed were on hand to show people their latest edition, while a few of the regulars helped cement Cash n Guns’ position as Board Game Staple.”
Cartamundi’s Schoenmaekers, added: “My Cartamundi colleagues and I really enjoyed the evening and were happy to sponsor the evening. Lelsey and her team have taken a great initiative, creating a social environment and bringing people together who play games.
This truly reflects Cartamundi’s purpose: share the magic of playing together. It was nice to see a mixed crowd of game lovers and network with our partners.”
