Spin Master triples its Q2 profits thanks to girls and pre-school success

Toy and entertainment company Spin Master has more than tripled its earnings to post an increase of 19.9 per cent in Q2 revenue.

The firm’s net revenue for the quarter ending July 30th has climbed to $127.7 million from $106.5 million in the time period last year.

Spin Master’s girls and pre-school sector has accounted for nearly half of that revenue, thanks to a whopping 144.4 per cent increase to $58.9 million in sales.

Zoomer, Paw Patrol, Chubby Puppies, Little Charmers and Kinetic Sand has all been credited with driving international revenue in Q2, while Europe has seen the biggest boost.

Meanwhile, Spin Master’s RC and interactive characters business segments have lifted 19.7 per cent to $28million from $23.4 million last year, while activities, games and puzzles dipped 1.4 per cent.

The company is now forecasting between 8 per cent and 12 per cent growth over Q3 and Q4, compared to the same period last year.

Spin Master is making a range of licensed products for the upcoming feature film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, including an interactive Yoda.
