Hamleys is readying to open one of the world’s largest toy shops in Prague in the first half of next year.
Located in a renovated shopping and administrative building in the centre of Prague, the new store is slated to cover 6,130 square meters.
“The Prague branch of Hamleys will be one of the top toy shops in the world in terms of size and quality,” said Pavel Cmelik of Inexad, licence holder for Hamleys in the Central European region.
“It will not be a common toy shop to which Czech customers have been used to so far. Along with Hamleys, certain revolution is coming to the market.”
Developer Lordship expects the new store to resonate the success of Hamleys’ flagship London store with similar numbers of visitors each year.
“For Prague it will mean not only an influx of tourists, but also a notable rise of prestige of the main pedestrian precinct in the centre of the city,” said Lordship head, Vaclav Matousek.
