Rubie’s and Centum Books attempt Minions Guinness World Record

As part of an exclusive Minions screening, Centum Books and Rubie’s Masquerade attempted to beat the Guinness World Record for the ‘most people dressed as a Minion in one place’.

Coinciding with Centum Books’ publishing launch, the screening was held at Vue Cinema Westfield and was introduced by Adam Steel, international sales director, NBC Universal and Geoffrey Reynolds, managing director, Centum Books.

It was attended by retailer partners, including Argos, Debenhams, Foyles, The Entertainer, Morrisons, Pep & Co, Sainsbury’s, Scholastic, Smyths Toys, Tesco, Troubadour, Waterstones and WHSmiths, along with celebrities, Licensors, Minions Licensee’s and business partners.

“Sunday was an amazing success and a real sight to see a cinema full of Minions,” commented Geoffrey Reynolds of Centrum Books.

“I was delighted by the effort everybody made and it was good to see the children (and grown-ups) having so much fun.”

Directly after the screening, members of the audience put on their Minion costumes ready for the Guinness World Record attempt.

“Like everyone, our fingers are crossed that we managed to beat the world record and I would like to thank Rubie’s for their support,” added Reynolds.

“I would also like to thank all the Minions licensees who donated products for the amazing good bags and Kirsty and her team for co-ordinating everything.”
