Butlin’s and Hasbro team up to set world record for the most people playing Connect4

A group of 314 guests at Butlin’s Minehead Resort in Somerset have set a new Guinness World Record for the most people playing Connect4 at the same time.

Butlin’s Redcoats joined forces with guests to set the record which also helped to celebrate the partnership between Butlin’s and Hasbro.

As a result of the partnership, all chalets at the new West Lakes Chalet Village development at the Minehead Resort now boast a copy of Twister.

Other popular Hasbro Gaming titles like Connect4, Operation and Monopoly are available for guests to borrow from a dedicated games library at the chalet village reception.

“When we set out to create a chalet village that met the needs and wishes of modern families, one of the things our research showed was that Mums and Dads wanted to spend family time with their children playing more traditional board games, rather than some of the modern electronic devices,” said Butlin’s managing director Dermot King.

“Therefore, by working with Hasbro Gaming we have made that possible by providing some of the world’s most popular board games.”

Kay Green, Hasbro UK marketing director, added: “We are delighted to be involved in Butlin’s new Chalet Village and the Guinness World Record title for the most people playing Connect 4.

"It’s great to see Butlin’s and Hasbro Gaming working together to champion family gaming. We live in a digital world, but board games can still bring everyone together for real face time, to laugh, converse and compete, whatever the age."
