Nick Case's game challenges players to design, finance and build a golf course.

Inventor heads to UK Games Expo to showcase The Front Nine

A first time game designer is heading to the UK Games Expo this year with his new golf course building card game, The Front Nine.

Nick Case, golfing enthusiast and chief operations manager of A-Muse-Ment, is preparing for the event this May, where he will showcase the game that challenges players to finance, design and build their own golf course.

The Front Nine: A Big Game in a Small Box sees players start the game with their own clubhouse, and develop a course hole by hole.

As in the real life game, each hole features different topography which constrains tee access and green exits. Players must then snake their course across the table as they try to make their way back to the clubhouse.

Meanwhile, players must manage their finances to generate income and battle the ever-increasing land costs.

Case explains that The Front Nine card game has already been met with positive reaction from UK and international fans, having sold 250 copies to date.

His game has also amassed over 15,000 views on the online tabletop game forum, Board Game Geek.

Off the back of the early success, the game will be available at the UK Games Expo this May, and Case already has a first expansion lined up, titled Augustus The Emerald Blazer Expansion, which will make its UK debut at the summer event.
