Jakks Pacific to launch toy lines for Warcraft movie

US toy maker Jakks Pacific has been appointed the master toy partner for the upcoming, live-action feature film, Warcraft.

Based on Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft universe, including the online role-playing game World of Warcraft, the film – which was first announced in 2006 – will hit screens across the US from March 2016.

Directed by Duncan Jones, the upcoming title will star Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper and Toby Kebbell.

Under the new agreement, Jakks Pacific will manufacture, distribute and market action figures in all scales, plush, playsets, role-play items and more.

“We have a strong partnership with Legendary and we are eager to build upon our relationship as Master Toy partner for this incredible film,” said Stephen Berman, chief executive officer, Jakks Pacific.

“We will focus on creating detailed action figures and role-lay items to give collectors exactly what they want – high quality, realistic characters and role play items from the film.”

Jakks plans to launch its Warcraft product line in early 2016.
