3DRacers ‘brings Scalextric and Mario Kart together’ on IndieGoGo

A 3D printed car-racing game, described as a cross between Scalextric and Mario Kart is looking to raise $25,000 to help it reach toy shelves in the US.

3DRacers – a collection of smartphone controlled, 3D printed toy cars – has now launched on the crowd-funding site, IndieGoGo in a bid to raise the sum by next month.

Created by the Italian start-up company of the same name, 3DRacers allows players to race toy cars around a track, controlling the vehicles via a smartphone app.

Boasting ‘multiple gameplay’, fans can control their cars in straight races, featuring warm-up laps and pit stops, or choose to enter Battle Mode, featuring turbo and videogame-style power ups.

With the emphasis on customization, the team at 3DRacers will allow fans and racers to create any vehicle they want by designing it online and sending it off to be printed.

The racer will then be fitted with the 3DRacers Pilot electronic board.

The team has already secured $9,487 of its $25,000 target with 30 days remaining before the project closes on March, 5th this year.
