Wild Card Games is celebrating a bumper start to the year, having achieved double-digit growth for the third year in a row.
The team behind the popular travel-inspired games Backpacker and Mapominoes has sold over 205,000 titles in the UK alone, with both featuring in John Lewis’ bestsellers list of Christmas 2014.
Meanwhile, Wild Card Games’ award-winning board game, Who Knows Where also managed to scoop a number one slot in its category on Amazon throughout November and December last year.
“The game has broken all of our records, “ Wild Card Games’ founder, Sean Byrne told ToyNews.
“It sold out of all stock twice in three months and has already been pre-ordered by many leading retailers after national press coverage.”
Byrne is now optimistic that 2015 can replicate the success of the previous year, fuelled by its new release, Frenzi.
Billed by Byrne as the ‘craziest, fastest, flipping card game you’ll ever play’, Frenzi will be on display at Wild Card Games’ stand at the upcoming London Toy Fair.
“It’s a lively party game that tests your observation, speed and reactions and gets everyone out of their seats,” said Byrne.
And the good news doesn’t end there for Byrne. Two of the company’s other games, Arithmanix and Astronauts have won the Gold Award for the best games in their category at the Imagination Gaming Family and Education Games Awards.
“We really did have a fantastic year in 2014,” concluded Byrne.
