Meccano unveils Meccanoid robot at CES 2015

Meccano has unveiled its Meccanoid G15 KS robot at CES 2015.

The buildable robot uses its ‘Mecca Brain’ and voice recognition technology to say thousands of phrases, tell jokes, offer fun facts, play games and interact with users.

It can initiate conversations, remember birthdays and an app using motion capture technology allows Meccanoid to mimic a consumer’s movements in real time.

The app will also allow users to program Meccanoid through a “ragdoll” Avatar, record the movements and sounds to play and share with friends.

Meccano’s Meccanoid will be available later year, priced at around $399.
