LEGO Ideas user wants to bring the frantic world of Dr. Seuss to the LEGO arena with educational play-set for kids and adults.

The Cat in the Hat building set leaps to LEGO Ideas

Over the years, The Cat in the Hat has taken on numerous guises, from book form and animated series to a motion picture and even musical.

Now, a life-long fan of the famous feline has embarked on a mission to bring the character to the world of toys, with the first The Cat in the Hat LEGO Ideas project.

Created by Dr. Seuss and first published in 1957, The Cat in the Hat was developed as an alternative to the children’s learning books of the time.

LEGO Ideas user, ToaRickBrick has made it their task to pair the frantic fun of The Cat in the Hat title with the construction toy to deliver an educational set for kids and parents alike.

“This set is designed for much playability, where kids can have fun and learn a thing or two about cleaning up,” said ToaRickBrick via the project’s page.

“Kids can play with this set, acting out favourite scenes from the book while their parents read it with them. This can take the visual learning Seuss imagined to a whole new level, involving hands-on activity as well.”

Launched to the LEGO set fan invention website on December, 1st, 2014, the project features the character Sally’s house, The Cat in the Hat’s clean-up machine with poseable arms, The Thing’s box which opens and closes, The Cat minifigures and Thing 1 and Thing 2.

With 126 supporters, the project will remain active on the LEGO Ideas website until December, 1st this year.
