LEGO Frozen sets will not be available in UK toy shops before the New Year.
As demand for all things Frozen increases in the run up to Christmas, LEGO has revealed that its much hyped range based on the award winning Disney animated feature will launch in the Nordic and Baltic regions next week.
However, the range is not expected to be on sale in the UK until January 2015.
The LEGO Frozen set, called Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle is aimed a children between six and 12 and consists of 292 bricks and features Elsa, Anna and Olaf the snowman.
But despite being the recipe for a major seller this Chrstmas, LEGO CEO, Jorgen Vig Knudstorp has suggested the line is not top priority for the firm this season.
“It’s not so important for us with Frozen,” he said in an interview in London.
“It is definitely across all categories a very strong property, a wonderful movie, but for us, it’s a minor thing.”
So, while LEGO Frozen set won’t be topping the best sellers lists this season, retailers remain confident in its sales in the New Year, and Argos has confirmed that the new LEGO Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle will be available in store mid-January.
