Independent toy retailer, WigWam Toys has been awarded the Good Toy Guide’s December Retailer of the Month.
The Brighton-based store has been handed this month’s accolade for its ‘innovative and exciting’ range of toys as well as its dedication to children’s development.
Originally founded in 2001, the store was bought by Clair Letton and Jesse Marshall and re-opened on April 20th, 2013.
Since then, the owners have immersed the business in the local community, supporting local makers, organizing events to develop, grow and support locals and offer ‘an alternative model to big business.’
“We are both big kids who love to play, we are passionate about what we do and love nothing more than a day in the shop, chatting to our customers,” said Letton.
“We believe that childhood is sort, especially in today’s modern world. We want our children to stay kids for as long as possible and the products we stock reflect that.
“We pride ourselves in sourcing beautiful, design led toys and gifts that don’t cost the earth and fire up little imaginations. We both look forward to many more years messing about with toys.”
Founder of the Good toy Guide, Dr. Amanda Gummer, added: “We are delighted to support exciting new independent shops that chose innovative and exciting toys that are great for children’s development.
“We are looking forward to watching the WigWam team go from strength to strength and hope to see them at Toy Fair.”
