Accentuate heads to John Lewis

Just four months after launching, guess-the-accent party game Accentuate is hitting the shelves of John Lewis stores nationwide this week.

The department store has become the first major High Street stockist of Accentuate, the cringe-inducing guess-the-accent game invented by brother-and-sister team, Graeme and Fiona Fraser-Bell.

Accentuate launched in July, backed by a nationwide PR and marketing campaign, and the game will be showcased at a number of Christmas gift events over the next few weeks, including the Ideal home Show Christmas in both Manchester and London.

“We’re obviously thrilled that John Lewis is stocking our game,” said co-creator Graeme Fraser-Bell.

“We only unveiled Accentuate four months ago, so to be gracing the shelves of this High Street giant already, in perfect time for festive shoppers, is a real coup. We’re certain the unique party game-play will appeal to the John Lewis customer who’s seeking something truly different this Christmas.”

Scott Bartle, gift collections, John Lewis, added: “At John Lewis we’re always looking for innovative and exciting new products and Accentuate fits that bill perfectly.”

Accentuate sees players repeat a given quotation aloud in a randomly selected accent and see if teammates can guess what it is.

The game featuring 30 different accents from around the globe, a third of which are home-grown British accents.

Accentuate will be available in stores throughout the UK and also through www.johnlewis.com.
