The entry period for this year’s ToyTalk Awards closes today.
This year’s Awards celebrate the best new toys to hit the UK in 2014 and in its six year history, over 70 different toy producers have picked up Winner’s badges or Highly Commended awards.
“It’s the vast range of entries we receive that really make the ToyTalk Awards special,” said ToyTalk publisher David Smith.
“Recently, there’s been some debate on the many toy awards programmes, citing the fact that’s it is often the same familiar (and few) names who win. We have always treated all our entries equally, and the fact that the testing is undertaken by children in the target age range for each toy means we are really only reflecting what they see.
“The result is that over 70 companies have won awards since we launched in 2009 and many of those have been small or even start-up ventures. Daughters of History, Dice Maestro, Carddies and Talkplaces are examples of smaller enterprises that submitted great products and either won outright, or received Highly Commended badges.
“We’ve also attracted entries from the big guns, including Spin Master, LeapFrog and Flair, and the key point is that every toy gets a fair and impartial review.”
