Mind Candy has signed Topps as one of the first partners for its new brand, World of Warriors.
World of Warriors will start life as an app for iOS and Android in Q4 2014, but will be extended into the physical space in the New Year, starting with a trading cards range from Topps.
The mobile game will see players battling it out with a whole host of historical characters, and Topps’ World of Warriors card game ‘demands knowledge, skill, strategy and an element of luck’ for fans to triumph.
There will be codes inside packs that unlock exclusive Warriors content as well as Cryptic Rune Stone messages for players to de-code to discover useful tips and tricks.
“With its vast array of characters and stories, World of Warriors lends itself to partnerships such as this," said James McKnight, brand director at Mind Candy.
"Topps is the perfect company to take the incredible artwork and back-stories and create another exciting touch-point with the brand, just as they did with Moshi Monsters. We are looking forward to seeing the trading card game launch next year.”
Topps is also designing a unique Warriors prismatic pattern for the Warriors ‘Special Move’ foil cards and super rare ‘Hero’ Warrior cards that feature boosted stats to give players the upper hand in battles.
