The initiative is now in its third year and is aiming to hit the £2m target to offer support to the UK children's charity.

Tess Daly fronts Argos and Barnardo’s Toy Exchange 2014

Strictly Come Dancing presenter, Tess Daly has become the new face of Argos’ annual Toy Exchange.

Now in its third year, the initiative invites customers to drop off their old toys at any participating Argos or Barnardo’s stores in exchange for a £5 voucher towards the cost of new toys.

With £1.25 million worth of donations raised so far, this year Argos has firmly set it sights on a target of £2million for the children’s charity this Christmas.

The money will be used to help support some of the Barnardo’s vital causes such as early year’s development or vocational skills training.

This year’s initiative was launched following the results form research carried out by Argos and Barnado’s revealed that 92 per cent of children would give away their own presents if it meant another child would have a happier Christmas.

The Argos Toy Exchange will now run until November 25th.

“I am really excited to be a part of the Argos Toy Exchange this year,” said presenter, Daly.

“It’s an incredibly worthwhile cause and one which can help make Christmas that little bit more special for disadvantaged families across the UK.

“We want to bring the grand total from the three Toy Exchanges to £2 million, so with over 1150 Argos and Barnardo’s stores throughout the country, it’s so simple to just pop down to your local branch and get donating.”
