BBC Worldwide celebrates Doctor Who with Toys R Us partnership

Doctor Who mania is currently sweeping the nation, and Toys R Us is not one to be left behind.

The toy giant has kicked off its time travelling celebrations with the first of three weekends of Doctor Who themed weekends at its stores across the country.

Toys R Us stores in Oldbury and Medway played host to the iconic Tardis as young fans took on the role of the Doctor himself at the cosplay event.

And for the dinky Doctor deemed to have the best costume throughout the month long celebration, independent adjudicators at BBC Worldwide will reward the winner with a goody bag filled with £300 worth of prizes.

This weekend will see the Tardis visit Metrocentre in Newcastle and the Toys R Us store in Sheffield on Saturday, September 6th. This will be followed by events at Reading and Plymouth the weekend after.

BBC Worldwide will also partner with Hamleys and Character Options to launch numerous new events in the coming weeks.
