Pants on Fire Games has become the first ever board game company to secure investment from Dragons’ Den.
Viewers watched Argyll friends Richard McLuckie and Stuart McKenzie-Walker leave the Den on Sunday, August 24th with £50,000 backing from Duncan Bannatyne and Peter Jones for their games publishing company.
As a result, Pants on Fire Games has revealed its two new, fully licensed Marmite board games – Love It or Hate It and Who Put the Marmite In The Fridge? Both hit branches of WH Smith across the country this week.
"We’re obviously thrilled with the result," said McLuckie. "We entered the Den back in May of this year, hoping to get interest from one Dragon, so to leave with the backing of two is a real coup.
"It was touch and go for a while, especially when nerves got the better of us, but the end result is exactly what Pants on Fire needs to reach the next level of success.
"We’re excited about expanding our portfolio – starting with the two Marmite board games – and we’ve already heard from other retailers who want to stock even more of our games now that we’ve got the Dragons on board."
BBC Dragon, Peter Jones, added: "It’s great to be working with Richard and Stuart. Their enthusiasm for board games knows no bounds and I can’t wait to help them bring all their new concepts and ideas to life.

Bannatyne and Jones each now own 20 per cent of Pants on Fire Games, reducing to 15 per cent each once the initial investment is repaid.
As well as the two new Marmite games, Pants on Fire also boasts Liar Liar, You Cannae Push Yer Granny Off The Bus, Bluffoons, Eurobabble, The Victorian Gamer, Wing It and The Know It Game in its portfolio.
McLuckie and Mackenzie-Walker began inventing games together back in 2009 and hinted in the Den at a number of concepts they have yet to explore.
Mackenzie-Walker added: "Having the Dragons’ backing means that not only can we get our existing range in front of more buyers and ultimately more families in the UK, but also we’re now able to spend even more time and energy doing what we’re passionate about: exploring and developing the many fun concepts we have for new games to add to the collection."
