The Prettie Girls represent the ‘evolving, diverse demographics of the American marketplace’.

The first two dolls available to consumers are Lena, who is African-American, and Valencia, who is Hispanic.

“The Prettie Girls are fashionable, smart and inspirational," said Trent T. Daniel, founder of The One World Doll Project.

"They serve as positive role models for young girls, promoting genuine values and realistic physical attributes,”

“It is our mission to provide children with access to dolls that look like ‘me and my friends,’ and our partnership with Toys R Us validates the marketplace demand for a wider range of toys.”

Three more dolls in the range will be available this autumn.
