Kurio tablets to be featured in Thomson High Street superstores

UK travel company Thomson has partnered with Whipper Snapper to create entertainment pods featuring Kurio family Android tablets in its High Street superstores.

Traditionally furnished with TV screens, toys and activity sheets, the entertainment pods have been installed in a number of Thomson’s dedicated kids club areas.

KD UK has supplied the Kurio tablets to feature on the pods, giving children the opportunity to play on several pre-loaded games. These include the new Thomson Kids Club app, as well as Angry Birds and Talking Ginger.

"Both Kurio and Thomson are fantastic family brands and Whipper Snapper is committed to creating partnerships between complementary brands so these fantastic entertainment units make perfect sense," said Dom Ritson, MD of new kids media company, Whipper Snapper.

Tracey Devine, marketing and licensing director at KD UK, added: "Kurio is designed with families in mind and the new pods in Thomson stores will ensure that the children are kept busy, while mum and dad make their bookings.

"Meanwhile, the parents can rest assured that their child is safe and will only be able to access age-relevant material."

Doug Glenwright, general manager of Retail Transformation at Tui, continued: "The Kurio tablets have been incredibly popular in our stores; they really help mum and dad to focus on booking their perfect holiday.

"We are looking at rolling out the entertainment pods and Kurio tablets to more shops moving forwards."
