The Entertainer picks up Family Business of the Year accolade

The Entertainer continues to add to its award cabinet, recently picking up the Red Ribbon Family Business of the Year award.

The firm was recognised across the industry as being a family business, as well as one of the biggest toy retailers in the UK.

The success follows on from the firm winning the Zolfo Cooper Growth Retailer of the Year 2014 Award, while the website has won Best Online Retailer at the Toy Industry Awards for the last two years running.

The Entertainer – which has 89 stores across the UK – has experienced its fifth year of top line and like for like growth, reaching a pre-tax profit of £5.96 million. This is an increase of 16 per cent from 2012/13’s £5.1 million pre-tax profit.

Its in-store performance is also matched by strong online sales. Click and collect orders were up 93 per cent in the five weeks leading up to Christmas 2013.
