Frank Martin steps down as BTHA chair

The BTHA council has a new chairman in the form of MV Sports’ Phil Ratcliffe, after Frank Martin (pictured) officially stepped down from the role at the BTHA AGM and Industry Day yesterday.

The end of Martin’s tenure also coincided with Clive Jones’ last day as president of the council, prompting some key changes.

Character Options’ Jon Diver becomes the new vice chairman, while Christine Nicholls from Golden Bear moves into the role of vice president.

Spin Master UK’s Kevin Jones moves up to become president.

Martin commented: "I would like to wish all of them well in their new responsibilities."

Meanwhile, Vivid Imaginations chairman Nick Austin was recognised for his work for the Toy Trust, picking up the first Toy Trust Outstanding Achievement Award.

Under Austin’s stewardship, some half a million pounds has been raised for the charity.

It was also confirmed that next year’s ‘Big Challenge’ will take place on June 6th, 2015.
