Thousands of Cubs and Beavers took part in a K’Nex Car Construction challenge over the weekend, as the toy firm took the stage at the national Scouts Association’s Beaver and Cub Fun Weekend.
5,000 Cubs and Beavers aged six to ten took part in the event held at the organisation’s headquarters in Chingford to engage with traditional scouting activities as well as more modern pursuits.
And as part of its sponsorship of the Cubs Creative Challenge Badge, K’Nex entertained children with a car construction challenge.
Kids were tasked with building their own vehicles. Once completed, they then had the opportunity to race them.
Eileen Thornton, head of marketing, K’Nex UK, said: “The Fun Weekend was a great opportunity to get thousands of kids in our target audience hands on with K’Nex.
“Our racing challenge proved extremely popular and certainly brought out their competitive side.
“The K’Nex building system is incredibly intuitive and this was demonstrated clearly in the speed that Cubs and Beavers were able to create impressive constructions.
“As well as discovering their creativity with K’Nex, the event was also the perfect forum to highlight our forthcoming K’Nexpert competition to both children and their leaders.”
Kids were also treated to a free sample pack of K’Nex at the end of the weekend.
