Esdevium launches Dobble Kids

UK gaming specialist, Esdevium, has launched a follow up to its popular game Dobble, this time aimed at the younger kids market.

Dobble Kids has been billed by the firm as a ‘slightly simplified version of the original game, aimed at bringing the fast paced fun to kids as young as four.’

The latest version follows the same gameplay, in which players compete in one of five different games, competing to be the first to match symbols between cards.

However, instead of featuring eight symbols on each card, Dobble Kids features six animals to match, “making the game accessible to a younger age group,” said Ben Hogg, Esdevium marketing manager.

“We wanted to something specifically tailored for young children, without sacrificing the fun of the original game,” he continued.

“With Dobble Kids, we have a fantastic extension to Dobble that can be enjoyed by children as young as four, while still being a challenge for mum and dad too.”

The new launch is announced in the same month that Esdevium scoops a total of five awards from the family and hobby show, UK Games Expo.

The firm took home awards for Best Board Game for its title, Splendor, Best General Card Game for its Cheaty Mages, Best Miniature Game for Sails of Glory, Best Strategic Card or Dice Game for Trains and Best Abstract Game for its title, Castellan.

“We always have a great time at UK Games Expo and to win these awards is always very special to us,” said Esdevium Games demonstration co-ordinator, Mike Budd.

“It’s a fantastic achievement and consistent with the demand we have seen for specialist and niche games, as it has also risen rapidly over the same period of time.”
