Parrot reveals “flying camera” Bebop Drone

Parrot is once again taking to the skies with the launch of its latest in flying gadgetry, a “flying camera” called the Bebop Drone.

Equipped with a 14-megapixel fisheye-lens, the new drone is able to record full HD video, while moving quickly in flight.

The camera can then stream live, immersive views of the flight onto the screen of the piloting Smartphone or tablet.

“The Bebop is a flying camera,” said Parrot CEO Henri Seydoux.

“It’s lightweight frame supports a 14MP still/video camera with a 180 degree fisheye-lens and provides a jitter-free view regardless of the drone’s pitch and movement.”

The new Bebop Drone also offers a range boosting Skycontroller, an additional device equipped with an amplified Wi-Fi radio and four antennas, extending the range to up to two kilometers.

The Skycontroller will also allow users to connect to first person view glasses, that can then position the Bebop’s camera with a tilt of the wearer’s head.

The Bebop Drone will be available from Q4 of this year, however, pricing is still to be confirmed.
