Brownies celebrate 100 years with massive LEGO cake

To mark 100 years of the Brownies, 850 Brownies from Gloucestershire took part in a ‘sleepover adventure’ featuring a sizable LEGO cake.

The LEGO birthday cake, courtesy of LEGO Friends, made an appearance at the event at PGL Liddington in Swindon and was made up of 50,000 LEGO bricks, measuring an impressive 2.4 metres in diameter.

The anniversary weekend also saw Brownies enjoy a range of activities spanning abseiling, zip-wiring, drumming workshops and a Hawaiian Luau party.

The activities were drawn from ideas the girls suggested and the Brownie Adventure programme, which builds girls’ confidence and self-esteem, encourages them to become active citizens and learn about the wider world.
