TMNT action figures, Hero Portal and Plug It In and Play video games to hit shelves later this year.

US: Jakks Pacific to launch 48 inch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figures

Jakks Pacific has secured a licensing agreement with Nickelodeon to manufacture and distribute a line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys, including a 48.5 inch Michelangelo action figure.

The new agreement will cover Jakks’ Hero Portal TV video game platform, Plug It In and Play TV Games, large scale figures and more.

The line will also include a 48.5 inch Michelangelo action figure, marking the biggest articulated figure available at retail.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle products will roll out across the US this autumn, coinciding with the release of the TMNT feature film, hitting cinemas on August 8th.

“We are pleased to be a part of this hugely successful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise and to bring to life the famous, crime fighting quartet,” said John Blaney, executive vice president of marketing, Jakks Pacific.

“Our 48.5 inch rendering of Michelangelo is the biggest articulated figure available at retail and evokes all the action, adventure and fun of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles experience.

“Our new Hero Portal platform capitalises on the way kids are playing today with collectible game pieces designed to activate features with an all in one TV video game console.”

Manuel Torres, senior vice president, global toys and publishing, Nickelodeon Consumer Products, added: “Jakks Pacific is a leader in the toy making industry and we are excited to tap into their expertise in creating products that epitomise the essence of TMNT.

“This new line of products will spark the imaginations of our worldwide fans and give them even more of their favourite Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo adventures at home.”
