Toys and games logistics firm expands further into US from May 1st.

Horizon International to open New York office

Independent freight forwarder and logistics provider Horizon International Cargo is to open a New York office from May 1st, taking its US network to five branches.

The supplier of logistics services to the toys and games sector already has an established presence in Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Miami and Chicago.

Located at Elizabeth, New Jersey, the facility includes 15,000 sq ft of warehousing and eight loading bays. As well as handling a range of US domestic and international freight forwarding and logistics activities, Horizon will have a local platform to service the port as well as nearby Newark and JFK airports.

"We are delighted that we are now able to offer services in this key location," said Andy Nicholls, VP of Horizon International Cargo in the US. "The facility as well as the operational capability we will have in place from the very beginning will enable us to support a full range of customer requirements."

Nigel Davies, chairman of Horizon, added: "Not only does this build a stronger USA network, it also aligns very well to the rest of the Horizon and Sea Air Logistics networks."
