The new figure weighs in at 43 inches in length, reportedly the biggest ever to hit US stores.

Jakks Pacific reveals first glimpse of Godzilla

A 43 inch toy version of the new Godzilla has offered fans the first full body look of the latest reincarnation of the iconic lizard.

From Jakks Pacific, the figure stands at an equally impressive 24 inches tall and is, according to the Guardian, the biggest ever figure to hit US stores.

The figure’s length mirrors the staggering height of British film-maker, Gareth Edwards’ upcoming version of Godzilla, billed as the “largest ever,” at 350 feet in height.

The toy is now available from Toys R Us stores across the US, retailing at $44.99, and will see a wider distribution across the country as the film hits cinemas on May 16th.

“The idea was to make Godzilla as big as we possibly could,” said Edwards at a recent screening.

“We wanted him to be tall enough for you to be able to see him wherever you are in the city but small enough for him to be obscured at times.

“We did a whole version of options from crazy tall to small to dinosaur sized and it was clear that 350ft was optimum height, especially as that would make him technically the biggest Godzilla ever.”

A UK release date for Jakk Pacific’s gargantuan figure, is yet to be confirmed.
