Wii U and iPads are most talked about Christmas presents on Twitter

A recent study into what mummy bloggers, retail correspondents and toy retailers were talking about on Twitter has found that the Wii U and iPad ranges are set to be the most popular presents for kids this Christmas.

The research, carried out by Rakuten’s Play.com, has also found the new PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles are trailing in second and third place respectively while Furby and Lego came joint fourth.

Rakuten’s Play.com has also seen close to a 75 per cent uplift in sales of the Wii U in October this year, something the firm believes backs up this Twitter study.

Social data from the marketplace also showed that shoppers are set to make full use of vouchers and loyalty schemes to limit costs with the majority of mummy bloggers, retail correspondents and toy retailers talking about vouchers online this year.
