Historical Museum of the Palatinate has 2,000 square metres of features

German Playmobil exhibition kicks off 40th anniversary celebrations

Playmobil is kicking its 40th anniversary celebrations with a unique ’40 Years of Playmobil’ exhibition in Germany.

Running from December 1st to June 22nd next year at the Historical Museum of the Palatinate in Speyer, Germany, the exhibition will chart the company’s journey over the last four decades.

The museum has worked with collectors to create 2,000 square metres brimming with features, detailing how the product design has changed over time and how play sets are created.

The first in a series of celebrations to mark the firm’s milestone year, the exhibition will also feature an injection moulding machine providing souvenirs for visitors, along with play areas including a walk in cave, a Roman galley and a cargo ship.

Jamie Dickinson, marketing manager for Playmobil UK, said: "It is very exciting indeed to welcome a whole exhibition celebrating Playmobil.

"It is a fantastic way to see in our landmark year, and give something back to our loyal fans for their support over the last 40 years."
