Tomy has developed a mobile app for its field sales agents to aid the buying process.
Recognising the need to get information from the customer services team into the hands of the field sales agents when they were meeting with customers, Stuart Kahn, IT manager for Tomy, worked to develop the mobile sales app. It is compatible with iPad, Windows 7 and 8, plus Android devices.
Designed to enable to sales agent to effectively create a sales order, the app is simple to use, provides real time information when connected to the internet, gives centralised customer information and integrates with SAP.
To date, 80 per cent of Tomy’s European sales force are using the app, with a strong interest from Tomy US to adopt the technology.
"It’s early days, but we’re expecting higher value sales as a result of the mobile app," explained Kahn. "The up to date inventory information maximises Tomy product on shelves, so should any line be on back order then we can suggest an immediate replacement.
"The customer service team can concentrate on providing good service and the sales team on making sales."
