Mothercare appoints non-executive director

Mothercare plc has appointed Nick Wharton as a non-executive director. 

Wharton joins the Board with effect from November 14th 2013 and is the chief executive officer at Dunelm Group plc, a role he has held since December 2010. 

Wharton comes to the role with a wealth of experience having worked at Halfords Group plc as its chief financial officer, and prior to that he had various finance and international positions with The Boots Company plc and Cadbury Schweppes plc.

"I am very pleased that Nick is joining us as a non-executive director. Nick will bring valuable retail experience to the Mothercare Board," said Alan Parker CBE, Chairman.

Wharton added: "I am delighted to be joining Mothercare, and look forward to working with Alan and the other members of the Board to support its business both in the UK and Internationally."
