Northern Ireland expected to spend the most, with Londoners spending the least

Brits to spend an average of £289 this Christmas, says Give As You Live survey

Brits are set to spend an average of £289 on Christmas gifts, says a study on Christmas spending plans from online fundraising platform Give As You Live.

The research, which surveyed over 2,000 people, found that the 34 to 45 age group will spend the most at £343.65, with women spending more than men at £294.75 versus £281.17.

The 16 to 24 age group is expected to spend the least at £181.80, but the study also found that 75 per cent of Brits plan to spend the same amount or more on Christmas this year.

In terms of regions, spending the most will be N. Ireland with £384 followed by North East at £365, North West at £297.

Regions predicted to spend the least this Christmas are London at £259, East at £260 and Wales with £276.
