Sun Mate Corporation, a global toy manufacturer, and the Smithsonian’s business division, Smithsonian Enterprises have partnered to introduce a brand new Smithsonian branded toy line.
The new range is based on the 137 million collection items held at the Smithsonian Institution, the world’s largest museum and research complex.
Sun Mate is launching a full line of branded toys including role play and exploration sets, doctor and veterinary play-sets, electronic toys and room decor.
"We are thrilled to launch a fun, educational toy line for the Smithsonian," said Rami Ben Moshe, president, Sun Mate Corporation.
"Each toy sku will be inspired by something in the Smithsonian. The goal is to use the treasures from the Smithsonian’s vast holdings as inspiration and include inserts in each package to tell the stories and help educate children.
"We like to associate our company and ints quality products with the best brands and icons and I strongly believe that the Smithsonian brand is just that."
The Smithsonian licensed program already includes home furnishings, children’s educational products and toys, graphics, publishing, collectibles, decorative gifts and accessories.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of all Smithsonian licensed products supports the institution’s educational mission to ‘increase and diffuse knowledge.’
