Maddie Brindley, creator of the Gingerbread House, scoops first prize of £650

Gingerbread home wins Doll’s House Emporium’s Creative Competition

The Dolls House Emporium, UK retailer and specialist in Doll’s Houses, has revealed the winner of its annual creative competition, a spooky gingerbread house.

The miniature representation of a witch’s Gingerbread House created by Maddie Brindley, from Chesterfield, scooped the first place prize of a Doll’s House Emporium kit worth up to £650.

While the exterior does look good enough to eat, Brindley insists that all food is hand made out of Fimo/Sculpey or clay.

Brindley told Dolls House Emporium: "My kids gave me the idea for the Gingerbread house as we were reading a book together Night time Tale and it was the witch’s house in it."

Taking home a no less impressive second prize of £350 worth of Doll’s House Emporium vouchers was Jayne Woodward’s creation: Beastly Botanicals.

The Doll’s House Emporium informs that the ‘building and its contents are based around the story of a fantasy plant laboratory owned by Dr Morpheus T. Seedbender PD (Plant Doctor).’
